Top Simi leader, Abrar granted bail

NAGPUR: Dr Arif Abrar, top SIMI cadre, who had

surrendered before a lower court in January end, had been granted bail by 10th Ad hoc session judge on Tuesday. Dr Abrar who

was lodged in Nagpur central jail after police interrogation, is expected to be released shortly.
 
Defence lawyer

Advocate AM Rizway stated that court found no incriminating evidence against him, apart from the fact that he was a member of

the gang representing the outfit, who were arrested and charged under unlawful activities (prevention) Act by Sadar police in

August 2006.
 
Following court's order, the former SIMI leader would join several other counterparts who were

also implicated in the same case and was later granted bail by the court.
